Lord General Matthais Areson - Strongest Supporter of Christoph I. No one knows the name of his son's mother. Salt and Pepper colored hair. Blue-grey eyes. Loyalty to the Crown is first and foremost. Favorite meal is rabbit stew. He also enjoys a hardy Leek Soup with a loaf of fresh Panis. When in a battle you could find him at the front of the fray to the right of the King and Lady St. James.
General Aleksander Thorschilde - Senior General to King Jaromir. Dark brown hair and black eyes. Does his duty before it's asked of him. His wife and child were killed in an explosion fifteen years ago. He had no current lover or anyone that he is interested in. The predicament with Lady St. James has him intrigued. He rarely smiles or lets any emotion other than neutrality cross his face when he is in public. Among friends he is slightly more emotional but not by a great deal.
Heir Apparent Paul Areson - Son and heir of Lord General Matthais Areson. Has his mother's black hair and his fathers blue-grey eyes. Wears his hair shoulder length and tied back with a thong. Is clever and has a low sense of humor. Married to Bethany who is blond haired and green- eyed. Has one child. A daughter named Aingeal. The name of his mother is known only to him and his father. Not even his wife knows. On his daughters sixteenth birthday she will be told the name of her grandmother thus starting the family tradition of keeping the name a secret to all but the heir to the family seat.
Heir Apparent Aurina - Jaromir's daughter and heir to the throne. Has her mother's red hair and her father's attitude towards the nobles. Thinks that having Lady St. James back in the land of the living is the best thing that could happen to the planet. Like the Lady St. James she has a relationship that not even her father knows about. The relationship is with a respected nobleman. One her father holds in high esteem. Her mother died giving birth to her and consequently she is the apple of her father's eye.
Lady Bridgit St. James - Born Bridgit Jamison as a teenager she was sent 300 years into her planets past where she became the Heroine known as Lady St. James. Loved by the crown loyalists and hated by usurpists and criminals alike. She was also Christoph's Crown Champion. She is the mother of Heir Apparent Lord Paul Areson. Fifty years after she started her life as St. James she was pulled back into her correct time. She found herself a 66 year old woman in a sixteen year old body. She must now use all of her wits to regain the glory the crown has lost over her three hundred year absence. She is Jaromir's champion as she once was for Christoph. Longs for the taste of Rabbit Stew and fresh Caudell. Among many other things.
Rachel - Bridgit's best friend in modern times and direct descendant of Liatha St. James' closest female companion in times of old. Has an odd way of speaking. Is highly intelligent. Enjoys confusing any and all that she comes into contact with.
Bethany - One of Bridgit's younger twin siblings. Is a classified genius. The more polite (although not by much) of the two.
Rebecca - The other of Bridgit's younger twin siblings. Also a genius. Cares very little for others opinions.
Finn Erikson - Representative of the Merchants Guild. Direct descendant of Razvan, the Merchantman that had approached St. James during the Planetary Civil War, with information on the Usurpists actions. Their extensive exchange of information and ideas became known as The Kings Channel.
Lady Meredith Areson - Direct descendant of Lord Paul Areson. Bridgit's many times great granddaughter. Mother of Heir Apparent Lord Cal Areson. Was married to Kenneth Tolsen. She married Tolsen thinking that he had changed his roguish ways. Found out she was wrong.
Lord Consort Kenneth Tolsen - Before he was executed for treason he was married to Lady Meredith Areson. He was Cal Areson's father. By the time of his death he had earned the hatred of both his wife and son. Not to mention the disgust of the entire planet and the wrath of St. James.
Mrs. Jamison - Bridgit's mother. She knew the truth of whom Bridgit was before she was born. Was critical of Bridgit until she disappeared in order that her oldest would be able to face the challenges that lay ahead of her. Has tried everything in order to get the twins from arguing too loudly. She has even bribed Bridgit to keep them quiet. It doesn't always work.
Professor Jamison - Bridgit's father. He is a history professor at the local college. His hobby is the St. James Legends. Due to this hobby Bridgit and her mother are reluctant to tell him the truth due to the many questions that he would undoubtedly ask. He is extremely proud of all three of his children and is the first one to tell them that.
Master Eamon - Bridgit's coach and sword trainer until she returns from the past. Once she returns he is found to be the head of the St. James security detail which has been kept alive thanks to Matthais Areson and his descendants. Much to the dismay of Bridgit.
Heir Appearant Cal Areson - The only son of Meredith Arson and Kenneth Tolsen. This makes him Bridgit's many times great grandson - a fact that he finds extremely amusing. He is the first person to approach Bridgit in modern times (in the first book. What he does in the second is just as interesting). He is also the person that returns Bridgit's beloved swords to her. Cal has a low sense of humor as well as Bridgit's jet black hair. Cal follows his mothers lead when it comes to dealing with his father (a man he has no respect and even less fillial devotion for). Likes to rile people up just to get a reaction.
High Mage Cassan - This is the man that causes all of Bridgit's problems. That is what she likes to say anyway. He is the one who pulled her into the past to become the heroine known as St. James and it was his spell that sent her sixty-six-year-old self into her sixteen-year-old body when her work was done in the past. He was alive and apparently middle-aged at the time of the Usurpists war when St. James was alive and he still looks middle-aged now that she is back in her original era. He is most likely three and a half centuries old if not older. While he may be long lived he knows the pains of losing friends. He is and was the leader of the mage community. He is the one who rebuilt the mage community when the re-emmerged after their long dissappearance. This was done at the bidding of his patroness Bridgit St. James. Whilst he and Bridgit needle each other they will watch each others backs before the drop of a dime. Especially since both mourn friends who are no longer her
