Sera Nacien
- One of the most effective Agents the government has. In a past life she was known as King Arthur's Champion - the Lady Champion Seraphim. Her father is an investment banker and her mother is a house wife. Her parents adopter her although she doesn't figure this out until the end of the first book. The current Tratian government had her husband and five year old daughter killed two years before the start of the first book. She is also the only child of the former Tratian monarchs although this is also something that she doesn't figure out until the end of the first book. Sera witnessed the execution of her parents when she was three and still has the occasional nightmare about it.
Jake Stais (Lancelot du Lac)
- Sera's partner and one of her two best friends. In a past life he was known as Sir Lancelot du Lac. Several years ago terrorists killed his fiancee and he turned to government service to avenge the death of her. He is the only child of two very wealthy parents that support the work he does - even if they don't know half of it. Jake and Louis also were among the team that discovered Sera when she had been tortured to the brink of death.
Louis Phelt (Bedivere or Bedwyr)
- Sera and Jake's other partner and arguably the most sane of the three. Louis comes from a working class background in which his father is a construction worker and his mother does odd jobs to make ends meet when necessary. He has two siblings. One of which has children of her own. Louis' father does not understand his wish to work forthe government. Especially as his youth was spent getting into trouble with the law. Louis is a self-proclaimed commitment-phobe and has a new girlfriend almost every week. He - along with Jake - were among those that rescued Sera when she was tortured almost to death. In a past life he was known as Sir Bedievere - the sword-bearer of King Arthrur Pendragon.
Arthur Pendragon (Arturus Rex)
- The legendary once and future king of England. He is also the husband to Guinnevere. All that is known about his former kingdom is the legends that have been passed down through the ages. Upon waking he finds that the legends are distorted due to the person that was ordered not to fight in the final battle between him self and his nephew Mordred: the Lady Champion.
Morgan le Fay
- Queen of the Fay and sister to Arthur. Senior Queen of Avalon. She is also one of the few people that Sera feels safe with. Morgan is immortal and has a tendency to interfere in mortal affairs. Morgan and Merlin annoy each other more often than they get along.
Morgause (Morgawse, Norcadet)
- Sister to Arthur and Mother of Mordred (in Arthurian Camelot) and wife to Lot of Orkney. Other children of Morgause include Gawain, Agravain, and Gaheris, Gareth. In my telling of the tales she and her lies are the true cause of the fall of the City of Dreams.
Merlin (Myrrdin, Merlinus, Emrys)
He was the senior advisor to Arthur in the days of Camelot. He trained Arthur and Sera as children. One was trained to rule and the other was trained to survive in a world where women were not always treated fairly. He is immortal and has a tendency to believe in male supremacy.
Garth Nacien
- Sera's academic brother. He is a historian who specializes in Arthurian history and was the one to begin the search for the legendary King. At times he can be a bit naive.
Jeff Casnin
- Former General in the Tratian Combined Military. Although he was (extremely) young for his rank he was placed there because he was able to effect the changes that King Micheal wanted at the time. He is also a leading member of the Tratian Resistance to its current government. He rescued the young Princess Seraphim when her parents were murdered on the orders of David Barrydon. In addition to that he also works for the same non-existent government organization that Jake, Sera, and Louis do. Although he does have a more freelance attitude with his job.
John C. Morelli
- The former Tratian double agent that killed Sera's husband, Lance, and her daughter, Anna. He is also the one that tortured Sera. These actions put him at the top of Sera's 'To Kill in the Most Painful Way Possible' list. He has a twin sister named Camilla.
Camilla J. Morelli
- John's twin and another person on Sera's list. In the beginning of the book Camilla goes by the name of Julie Becknor and is a spy for the Tratian government as her brother is. She also has a relationship of questionable nature with the President of Tratia, David Barrydon.
Lance Silvanis
- Sera's former partner-turned husband who was killed by John Morelli.
Anna Silvanis
- Sera's daughter by Lance that was killed along side her father while her mother was tortured. She had her mother's purple eyes. She was five at the time of her death.
Erica Nacien
- Sera's mother. She is often critical of Sera and her choice to work for the government. While being critical she also recognizes the mistakes that she made with the young woman that calls her 'mother'.
Eric Nacien
- Sera's father. He took her in when Jeff Casnin turned up on his door step and told him what had happened to her birth parents. Sera is the daughter that he never had. He is also the only one who can tell how Sera feels when she tries to hide her emotions. He taught Sera english when she was placed with him.
Michael Duscone
- Sera's birth father and the former King of Tratia. He, along with his wife Katherine were executed before a three-year-old Sera. He had a habit of telling Sera that she could do anything she damned well pleased and if anyone argue with her about it she could always say that 'daddy said I could.' This is a habit that Sera still uses jsut for different reasons.
Katherine Anne "Ashley" Duscone
- Sera's birth mother and former Queen and Lady of Tratia. She, along with her husband were executed before Sera's eyes when Sera was three. She loved Sera more than life itself. She is also the sister to Donald Ketterman. Aside from her daughter Ashley's most prized treasure is a necklace that Michael gave her at their wedding.
Donald Ketterman
- Sera's boss at the 'Agency'. he is also her Uncle although neither of them know this fact till the end of the first book. There is little love lost between him and the current Tratian regime. There is even less love lost between him and anything remotely resembling a Tratian secret agent.
Baron Calimar te Sakir
- Sera's godfather and the senior ranking noble to survive the purge of the current govenrment. The current regime finds that he is too popular to have an 'accident'. To him Sera is more than a princess, she is his 'little angel'.
Sir Kay (Sir Cai)
- Arthur's Seneschal during Camelot's reign. He is also Arthur's brother in all but blood.
David Barrydon
- Current President of Tratia and has been since the revolution to overthrow the monarchy. He is the one that ordered the execution of the King and Queen. Hates Sera with a passion that will last until the day he dies.
Guinnevere (Gwenhywfar)
- Arthur's wife and Queen. She comes from the land of Caledon. She gave birth Arthur's son after Arthur died in battle. The child was reared by the Lady Champion and died of an inkown disease before he was eight.
President of the United States
- He may not like Sera but she has a hell of a lot more morals than the current Tratian regime. He is in his second and last term of office.
Kyle Resgood
- The President's Chief-of-Staff. In a past life he was Mordred. He hates Sera with a passion and helpled John Morelli cover his tracks when he escaped the country after he tortured Sera. He is also the one who sanctioned tha attack on Sera's family. Luckily for him no one alive knows of either of these facts.
Tyler Cantrell
- Vice President of Tratia and the one who carried out David Barrydon's order to kill the Royal Family. He enjoys taunting the surviving Royalists on the fate of the heir to their throne.
Uther Pendragon
- Father of Arthur and consort to Igraine. He was king before Arthur and while alive was never able to claim Arthur as his own. Asked Merlin for help in his Quest for Igraine.
Igraine (Ygrain)
- Arthur's mother and consort to Uther. Igaine was first married to Gorlois (duke of Cornwall) when she came to the attention of Uther. Uther, being who he was, decided that he wanted her and since he was king she should, by right, be his. Gorlois took offense to this and made off to the castle of Tintagle with his wife during a feast to Uther. Upon noticing this Uther took chase. One night during the battle Uther begged Merlin for help with his need for Igraine and Merlin said he would help so long as Uther's first born child be given to him. Uther agreed. So by way of magic Merlin made Uther look like Gorlois. The gaurds at Tintagel saw "Gorlois" and let him pass through the gates. Uther had his way with Igraine and in the process Arthur was concieved. Unknown at the time was that Gorlois was killed in battle that night. After Gotlois fell Uther eventually married Igraine and made her his Queen.
